Texas Accessibility Standards Plan Reviews & Inspections
The
Architectural
Barriers Department of the Texas Deparment of Licensing and Regulation
(TDLR) requires that all construction projects have a plan review and inspection
to ensure compliance with the Texas Accessibility Standards.
The first step for an Architect, Engineer, plan designer or owner is to submit project drawings to a Registered Accessibility Specialist for a plan review. The post construction inspection is the final step to ensure the project complies with TAS. This procedure should be entrusted to a company with extensive experience in accessibility plan reviews and inspections and actual construction experience.
With the knowledge and experience offered by Construction Code Consultants, multiple solutions can be offered to overcome most all accessibility challenges.
To submit a project for TAS:
- Complete the Project Registration Form, the Proof of Submission Form (for Design Professionals) and the Owner's Agent Designation Form (for owners).
- Send the completed forms along with a full set of drawings and the applicable fees. CCC will register the project with TDLR and perform a plan review. A report will be issued to the owner or owner's agent.
- Complete the Request for Inspection Form and contact CCC within 30 days of completion to schedule a post construction inspection. Once the inspection fee is paid, an inspection will be performed and a report will be issued to the owner or owner's agent.
